Spanish socialists would win over 28% of votes, according to new poll

Regards Catalonia, ERC would get 4.7%, CatECP 2.7%, and PDeCAT 1.4%

The socialist governing party (PSOE) would win 28.9% in Spanish Congress, if an election were to be held now, according to the 2018 December barometer of the Center of Sociological Investigation (CIS) released on Friday, showing a decrease compared to the November barometer (31.2%).

Meanwhile, the People’s Party (PP) would stay at last month’s theoretical polling position (19.1%), with Ciutadans (Cs) coming in close behind (17.9%, three decimals less than the last barometer at 18.2%), and then followed by Podemos with 14.9%, losing three points since November (18%).

The barometer also shows the growth of far-right Vox party, which recently broke in to mainstream Spanish politics in Andalusia, and which would enter the congress with 3.7% of the votes in a sustained growth since the latest two projections (1.3% and 2.5% respectively).

Regards Catalonia, pro-independence ERC would get 4.7% (a 0.1% decrease since November) with PDeCAT at 1.4% (up from 0.8%) in November, while non-aligned on independence En Comú Podem would get 2.7% of votes (from 2.8% in November).
