Carles Puigdemont called on pro-independence parties in Catalonia to stand united before the “attacks” of the Spanish government. His message came on a day when the head of the Catalan Parliament decided to postpone an investiture debate to reinstate him as government president, thus widening divisions among pro-independence parties.

“Unity is what brought us here. Let’s not lose it. This is what those who want us in prison and in the exile dream about,” the Catalan leader said in a video shared via Twitter. “If we stand together, strong, dignified, democratic and peaceful, we will move towards the fulfillment of our liberty.”
