The results of the upcoming elections are highly unpredictable and uncertainty grows as the 21 December election draws closer. The latest electoral polls suggest that pro-independence left-wing ERC would win the election, but ERC’s victory isn’t assured. Recent polls suggest that unionist party Ciutadans and Puigdemont’s candidacy, Together for Catalonia, are close behind ERC and could even win the election.

A poll published by Catalan newspaper ‘El Nacional’ says that ERC would get between 31 and 32 seats in the Catalan parliament, C’s and Together for Catalonia would tie for second position. According to this poll, the parties for a Catalan state would keep the majority of seats in the Parliament. The Catalan socialists would get between 21 and 22 seats, Catalonia in Common and CUP would get 9 seats, and Catalan PP would get between 6 and 7 seats.

Puigdemont’s candidacy gains ground

Another poll from Catalan newspaper ‘La Vanguardia’ suggests that pro-independence parties wouldn’t keep the majority in the Catalan parliament, even though ERC would the most voted party. The polls also show that Puigdemont’s candidacy, Together for Catalonia, gains ground.

According to the poll published by Catalan newspaper ‘El Periódico’, Together for Catalonia and ERC would tie for first position. Both parties would get 30 seats in the Catalan parliament.
