Exit poll gives overall majority to pro-independence parties

Pro-independence unitary list ‘Junts Pel Sí’ is set to win the elections and obtain 63 to 66 MP’s, according to the exit poll designed by Catalan Television TV3. Together with left wing pro-independence CUP, which would obtain between 11 and 13 MP’s, the parties would represent a pro-independence absolute majority in the Catalan Parliament. Anti-Catalan nationalism Ciutadans would experience a huge increase and become the second force in the Parliament, with approximately 19-21 MP’s.

Barcelona (CNA).- Parties which support Catalonia’s independence are to obtain absolute majority, according to the exit poll designed by Catalan Television TV3. Pro-independence unitary list ‘Junts Pel Sí’ is set to win the elections and obtain from 63 to 66 MP’s while left wing pro-independence CUP would experience a relevant increase and would get between 11 and 13 MP’s. Anti-Catalan nationalism Ciutadans would experience a huge increase and would become the second force represented in the Parliament, with approximately 19-21 MP’s. 


Catalan Socialist Party PSC would obtain between 14 and 16 MP’s, followed by coalition ‘Catalunya Sí que es Pot’, which the poll suggest will get between 12 and 14 MP’s, left wing pro-independence CUP with approximately 12 MP’s, the Conservative People’s Party between 9 and 11 MP’s and Christian Democrat Unió, the smaller party in the former coalition CiU, that may enter the Parliament for the first time with 3 MP’s.

Regarding the percentage of votes, ‘Junts Pel Sí’ would get 40.7% of the vote, followed by Ciutadans with 15.4%, PSC with 12%, ‘Catalunya Sí que es Pot’ with 10.4%, PP 7.8%, CUP with 9.1% and Unió may enter the Catalan Parliament with 2.9% of the vote.
