The Catalan Parliament has reaffirmed its defense of the right to self-determination and once again rejected the Spanish monarchy in a draft resolution following a Ciutadans-proposed plenary on the session on “the real Catalonia.”

With pro-independence parties Junts per Catalunya, Esquerra Republicana and CUP voting in favor, this motion comes only days after Spain’s Constitutional Court blocked a Catalan Parliament motion to abolish the monarchy for being “outdated and anti-democratic.”
