LIVE: Catalan rally against imprisonments in progress
Thousands of Catalans are expected in a rally held in Brussels to denounce the “lack of democracy in Spain” and to demand the “freedom of expression.” The demonstration is also asking for the release of the Catalan leaders who are still in jail, including the vice president of the deposed Catalan government, Oriol Junqueras. Its motto is ‘Europe, wake up! Help Catalonia,’ in a call to the European Union to reject the measures Spain has enforced in order to suspend Catalonia’s self-rule and independence roadmap. The Belgian police expects more than 20,000 people in the Catalan rally. Follow the demonstration live in this streaming!
