23-Mar-18 TV News: 'Five more pro-independence leaders jailed'

Five more Catalan leaders sent to jail. There are now nine pro-independence politicians behind bars awaiting trial, including the former Speaker of the Catalan Parliament, the vicepresident of the sacked government and as well as other high ranking ministers of the deposed cabinet. In a dramatic day here in Catalonia, we have also learnt today that the Secretary General of one of the main pro-independence parties in Catalonia, Marta Rovira, has gone into exile. Seven politicians are now seeking refuge abroad, including the deposed Catalan president Carles Puigdemont. Today 25 officials have also been sent to trial for their roles in the push for independence. / ACN
