21 Catalan hotels receive new Michelin Keys awards for world’s best hotels
Quality food guide distinguishes Terra Dominicata in Tarragona as best in Catalonia
The Michelin Guide has awarded 21 hotels in Catalonia with Michelin Keys in their 2024 hotel selection.
The Michelin Guide is best known for the stars they give to the best restaurants in the world, and as of this year they have started to award Michelin Keys to the best hotels.
The guide includes over 5,000 hotels which were carefully selected by the Michelin team. Of those, there are 97 hotels in Spain which have now received Michelin Keys.
The Michelin Keys are awarded by a team of experts based on five criteria; architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for the price, and the hotel's contribution to the neighborhood or setting where it's situated.
Catalan hotels Key ranking
Terra Dominicata in southern Tarragona is the only Catalan hotel to receive three Michelin Keys.
Mandarin Oriental Barcelona in the Catalan capital stands next to 11 other Spanish hotels with two Keys.
The Catalan capital has 15 hotels which have received one Key.
ABaC Restaurant & Hotel, Alma Barcelona, Almanac Barcelona, Antiga Casa Buenavista, Hotel Arts Barcelona, Hotel Boutique Mirlo, Mercer Hotel Barcelona, Monument Hotel, Ohla Eixample, Serras Barcelona, Seventy Barcelona, Soho House Barcelona, The One Barcelona, Wittmore Hotel Barcelona and Yurbban Passage Hotel & Spa.
Other Catalan hotels that received one Key are Hotel Mas Lazuli in Girona, Little Beach House Barcelona in Garraf, Can Mascort Eco Hotel in Palafrugell, and Hotel Peralada Wine Spa 6 Golf in Peralada.
