Sílvia Pérez Cruz and Marco Mezquida unite in Peralada festival
Singer and pianist create a one-night show with an exclusive setlist
Catalan singer Sílvia Pérez Cruz and Mallorcan pianist Marco Mezquida united on Thursday evening to perform in the Festival de Peralada. Musicians created a one-night show with an exclusive setlist, including new songs, some of Pérez Cruz's old themes, as well as covers.
Festival organizers highlight Mezquida's musical baggage and his "great capacity for adaptation and improvisation".
Pérez Cruz is a multi-faceted artist who masters music genres as varied as jazz, fado, flamenco, pop or South American folk.
It's the second time that the Catalan artist performs in Festival de Peralada, one of the country's most important art festivals. In 2009, Pérez Cruz starred in La Leyenda del Tiempo show, an homage to the great flamenco singer Camarón de la Isla.
