From February 3, the Montserrat caves in Collbató (Baix Llobregat) will offer visitors a new audiovisual experience that uses video mapping to explain the history of the caves and their relationship with the local area.

The 17-minute video presentation, which will be projected onto the cave walls, boasts an original soundtrack by musician Francesc Gener. What’s more, the more dramatic moments of the video presentation are accompanied by lighting effects on adjacent walls.

According to the mayor of Collbató, Miquel Solà, the aim of the presentation is to “dynamize and complement” the experience of the more than 20,000 people who visit the caves every year. From February, the guided visits will begin with the presentation, while the 7.5-euro entrance fee will stay the same.
