When he was young he wrote his first book in the Costa del Sol of southern Spain. “A very bad novel,” said the author.

Coben won the prize for his novel ‘Live Wire,’ where he reflects on two questions: how far does sincerity go and to what point is forgiveness still possible? The author said that the ideas for his books come from real experiences and his constant question, “what would happen if…?” He said that, after seeing an ultrasound of a friend’s son on Facebook, he asked himself, “What would happen if someone put a comment saying…’the baby is not yours?’” ‘Live Wire’ begins when an ex-tennis star hires private detective Myron Bolitar to find the father of the child he is expecting.
