Barcelona (ACN).- ‘Finisterrae’ won the top award at the prestigious International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) for being a risk-taking and original film that stretched the limits of the festival. That is the conclusion of the Tiger Awards’ jury. The film is directed by the top manager of the Sónar Music Festival Barcelona, Sergio Caballero. Although this was just his first movie, it made quite an impression. The film is an experiment of cinematic art. It boasts both irony and a surreal sense of humour. It tells the story of two ghosts that decide to go on the pilgrimage the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James) towards the end of the world. The ghosts of the film were the image of the Sónar Music Festival’s last edition. The film was produced by the Catalan producer Lluís Miñarro.
