Sitges (ACN).-  At the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival on Wednesday, the consortium Catalan Films & TV of the Catalan Institute for Cultural Industries (ICIC) and the Audio-visual Producers’ Rights Management Association (Egeda) signed a joint initiative to begin VEOcatalanfilms.cat. The web portal will allow users to stream Catalan films online. The service is primarily dedicated to industry professionals so that they may be able to access Catalan productions for selections in film festivals, etc.

The initiative is part of Catalan Films & TV’s internationalisation policy. The president of ICIC, Antoni Lladó, said that this is a “step forward” in improving the presence of Catalan cinema on an international level.

The new website is VEOcatalanfilms.cat.
