Podemos: the left-wing party that could be key to keeping Sánchez in power

Podemos, which translates as “We Can” in English, is a left-wing party that could play a major role in deciding who the next Spanish president is. Polls show that the party is in decline, and this could be down to the fact that many voters across Spain will likely choose between Podemos and the Socialists, who have enjoyed a lot of visibility after governing Spain for the last year. Regardless, they would be expected to assist Socialist leader Pedro Sanchez to continue in the presidency should there be an opportunity to form a coalition, as they would consider it impossible to allow the trio of right-wing parties to form a government.
