One of the first measures after Spain imposed direct rule on Catalonia last October was shutting down all delegations abroad bar one. Today, the government set off on the road to undo this. The only office which wasn’t closed was the one in Brussels, although its head was fired by Madrid. His replacement was announced today: Meritxell Serret, one of the deposed ministers exiled in Belgium.
