Dozens of Catalan companies are taking part in the Mobile World Congress, with a big part of them within the Catalonia pavilion. This space is run by both the secretary of Telecommunications and a government-funded agency, called Catalonia Trade & Investment (or ‘Acció’ in Catalan). With a network of around 40 offices spread around the globe, the main goal of this agency is to promote Catalan companies worldwide, especially within the innovation sector. That’s why Catalonia Trade & Investment, once more, involved in the Mobile World Congress. Catalan News has interviewed its innovation manager, Carles Gómara, about this event, and about the wireless industry in the country and its reputation abroad.

Hello, Carles Gómara, thank you very much for being with us. So, to start with, what is the representation like, here, this year, at the Mobile World Congress, of Catalan companies in the sector?

Well, we're very happy because this year, at the Mobile World Congress we have more than one hundred companies. Some of them are in our pavilion - in the Catalonia pavilion - others have their own stand and their own booth, and others are in different stands, from other companies.
