Barcelona (ACN).- The Catalan Minister for Innovation, Universities and Business, Josep Huguet, said that after the Catalan Government approved a 10 million euro shareholder’s capital increase for Spanair, it is “normal” to have a chair at the company’s board. Huguet added that it would “not make sense” if the shareholder was not accompanied by the presence of a “supervisor” and assessor”. The shareholders increase was made possible through the public company Avança, which approved backing the capital expansion last spring. Huguet considers this decision “strategic” for a company that is hoping to make Barcelona’s Prat airport an intercontinental connection hub.
