Unemployment in Catalonia rose slightly by 0.82% in November, some 3,208 people more than in October, raising the jobless total to 394,405, according to the Spanish Ministry of Labour, Migrations and Social Security.

However, when compared with last year, the unemployment rate has fallen by 6.64%, or some 28,057 people, representing an unbroken downward trend of 65 consecutive months, since July 2013.

Also, the rise in the jobless total is less than that recorded in any month since 2015, when the unemployment rate fell by 1,868 people.

Overall, unemployment in Catalonia has fallen slightly in all sectors, except in the service sector, which explains the small rise in the jobless total in November.

According to the Catalan government, the slight rise of unemployment is due to the end of the summer season in the tourism sector.
