Siemens to open centre in Reus’ Tecnoparc

The company will open a centre for industrial automation engineering in Reus. The centre is scheduled to open in 2011 and will employ around 30 qualified professionals.

Reus (ACN).- Siemens signed a contract with Tecnoparc Reus SA to open up a centre in the technological park. The company will open a Business Centre for Innovation and Development (CEPID) at Tecnoparc. The centre will include a department for industrial automation engineering. It is scheduled to open during the first trimester of 2011 and will employ 30 qualified professionals initially. Siemens expects the centre to grow.


The CEPID building will be 350 metres squared, with more than 6,000 metres dedicated to research activities and business development. The building will also host the Centre of Information Security of Catalonia (CESICAT), which is currently located in Redessa.

The mayor of Reus, Lluís Miquel Pérez, called Siemens a “well known and top of the line” company that will contribute in making Tecnoparc an important pole for nutrition, health, new technologies and communication.
