Gallina Blanca food company celebrates its 75th anniversary with more international sales than ever

On its 75th anniversary, the company has demonstrated the keys to its success: innovation and the study of the healthy properties of food. The President of the Catalan Government has said that Gallina Blanca is an example of solid-working practices which fight speculation and help to improve the economic situation.

Rubí (ACN).- On its 75th anniversary, Gallina Blanca has demonstrated the keys to its success: innovation and the study of the healthy properties of food. Artur Mas, President of the Catalan Government, highlighted Gallina Blanca as an example of good business practices and how to fight speculation. On the 75th anniversary of the company, Mas said, “a case like this helps to keep hopes for growth in Catalonia going, which is wracked by worries and people’s anger because of the mishandling of the current economic situation”. Gallina Blanca is an example of how to fight the financial crisis and send an optimistic message out to people.


The company has recently been taking part in the ‘Henufood project’, which tries to show how certain foods have beneficial properties in relation to the prevention of cardiovascular illnesses. Since 2010, some €24 million, €7 million of which belongs to Gallina Blanca, have been invested in this project. The Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation has funded 44% of the project.

Gallina Blanca is based in Rubí (Barcelona), where its facilities total some 1,300,000 m².  The company has a research centre with 25 highly qualified workers since 2008 and their work contribute to 7% of sales. In 2011, the company had a turnover of €650 million. Nowadays, it can be found in four continents: North America, Europe, Asia and Africa, and more specifically, in 53 countries all over the world.
