BizBarcelona, the fair devoted to entrepreneurs and small businesses held in the Catalan capital, concluded its 9th edition on Thursday with attendance figures of 13,600.

Over two days, Fira de Barcelona's convention facilities on Montjuïc welcomed entrepreneurs and small businesspeople, some 38.9% of whom were freelancers.

Meanwhile, 8% of the attendees were technicians or professionals related to the business ecosystem, while 7% were related to the social economy, and 4% were students.

The fair dealt with such issues as the latest business trends and relations between businesses, as well as offering visitors consulting services.

According to the organizers, more than 3,000 interviews were carried out during the event, as well as 130 talks given by some 240 different speakers.

During BizBarcelona, the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor reported that entrepreneurial activity accounts for 8.6% of business in Catalonia, "the highest figure for 12 years."
